About Walnut Creek

We specialize in unique rustic décor to furnish and accessorize lake houses, log homes and rustic city dwellings. Our store is located in the courtyard at the Mellwood Arts and Entertainment Center in Louisville, Kentucky where we are part of a developing arts, restaurant and retail community whose home is a renovated (work in progress) meat packing plant. 

We started our business because of our love for rustic living.  We happen to have a cedar lake house near Walnut Creek, at Barren River Lake, in Kentucky (thus, the name Walnut Creek).  Also, while fishing for rainbows in both Montana and North Georgia, we have grown to appreciate the simplicity and ruggedness of lodge living. In the past year since we began our business, we have met some remarkable people, many of whom live in this area and share our appreciation for fishing, the beauty of streams, or the simplicity and serenity of being on the lake.   And that forms the core of our business…those people who walk into our store and say, “We love this place!”

Though our line of merchandise promotes the “unplugged” lifestyle, the retail world today is certainly not “unplugged.” With that in mind, we have developed this website so that you can see our available merchandise on-line and, hopefully decide that you’d like to purchase some items so that you too can become part of the “unplugged” community!  Not all the items on our website are in our store and not all the items in our store are on the website; so call or email us if you have questions or if you have an item in mind that you don’t see our website.
